This Privacy Policy describes how SageLens ("we", "our", or "the App") collects, uses, and protects information when you use our language-learning application on Android and iOS devices.

1. Information We Collect

Audio Data

The App requests access to your device microphone (android.permission.RECORD_AUDIO) to provide voice-based learning features. Audio is processed in real-time and is not stored on our servers beyond what is required to fulfill the immediate request.

Account Information

Email address and display name provided at registration.

Usage Data

Lesson progress, vocabulary quiz results, and session statistics used to personalise your learning experience.

Device Information

Device type, operating system version, and app version for crash reporting and compatibility purposes.

We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided us with personal data, please contact us immediately so we can delete it.

2. How We Use Your Information

  • To provide and improve language-learning features, including AI voice tutoring.
  • To personalise lesson content based on your progress and preferences.
  • To send optional push notifications for daily practice reminders.
  • To diagnose crashes and maintain app stability.
We will not use your audio data or personal information for advertising, profiling, or sale to third parties.

The App may use the following third-party services, each subject to their own privacy policies:

Google Firebase

Authentication, analytics, and push notifications.

Google Gemini / Speech APIs

AI language processing and speech-to-text.

RevenueCat

Subscription management.

Google Sign-In

Optional OAuth login.

Chargily Pay

Payment processing for Algerian users.

4. Data Retention

We retain your account and usage data for as long as your account is active. Audio data is not retained beyond the duration of a real-time API call. AI chat session data is retained for up to 90 days after your last activity, or until account deletion — whichever comes first. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us or via the in-app delete account option.

5. Your Rights & Controls

  • Revoke microphone permission in device settings.
  • Disable push notifications in App settings.
  • Request access, correction, or deletion of data.

We use industry-standard measures (TLS in transit, server-side encryption at rest) to protect your data. No method of electronic transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
